Last updated: 18 August 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Nicolas Thành GRIFFON, publisher of the Scale in Peace website (scaleinpeace.com).

For any question about your data, or to exercise your rights: contact@scaleinpeace.com.

What the site collects, and why

When you download the guide or subscribe to the newsletter. The form collects your first name and your email address. They are used to send you the guide, then emails about steering a tech team in Vietnam. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. This data is hosted by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), in the United States. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

When you book a discovery call. Booking runs through a Google calendar embedded in the page. Google collects your name, your email address and whatever you type in, in order to set up the appointment. The legal basis is carrying out your request.

When you leave a comment on an article. The name and email address you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser details are stored. The IP address and browser details are used for spam detection. A hashed version of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to display your avatar.

When you simply browse the site. If you accept audience measurement cookies, Google Analytics records anonymised browsing data: pages viewed, time spent, referrer, device type. Nothing is triggered until you accept. Separately, the host keeps technical connection logs, as any web server does.

Cookies

On your first visit, a banner asks what you accept. Your choice is stored and you can change it at any time from that same banner.

  • Necessary cookies: store your consent choice and keep the site working. They cannot be turned off.
  • Audience measurement cookies: Google Analytics, set only if you accept them.
  • Comment cookies: if you leave a comment and tick the box provided, your name and email are stored for one year so you do not have to type them again.

How long your data is kept

  • Guide or newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe, then removed from the list.
  • Booking a call: for as long as the relationship is followed up, three years after the last contact.
  • Comments: as long as the article is online, or until you ask for removal.
  • Audience measurement: fourteen months at most, depending on the Google Analytics settings.

Who has access to your data

Your data is never sold, rented or traded. It is accessible to Nicolas Thành GRIFFON and to the technical providers strictly required to run the site:

  • Hostinger International Ltd, website and email hosting.
  • Kit (ConvertKit LLC), email sending and contact list management.
  • Google (Analytics and Calendar), audience measurement and appointment booking.
  • Automattic (Gravatar), comment avatars.

Kit, Google and Automattic are based in the United States. These transfers outside the European Union are covered by the European Commission standard contractual clauses and by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

No automated decision-making and no profiling is applied to your data.

Your rights

At any time you can ask for access to your data, its correction, its deletion, a restriction of its processing, its portability, or object to its use. You can also withdraw your consent whenever you want.

One address for all of it: contact@scaleinpeace.com. You will get an answer within one month.

If that answer does not satisfy you, you can file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris) or with the data protection authority of the country you live in.
